JOB SUMMARY


 


The Learning Technology Specialist is responsible for the administration of multiple online learning management systems and related learning technology systems including record-keeping, reporting, training and troubleshooting. The incumbent will also utilize creative and technical skills in designing and implementing effective eLearning solutions including, but, not limited to online courses, simulations, podcasts, webcasts and mobile media content which have the power to engage and inform a diverse audience.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


 


Responsible for creating, implementing, and administering eLearning courses to support the institute’s mission and organizational development goals.  Serves as primary administrator for eLearning, registration, and compliance training systems supported and administered by HR/Learning and Organizational Development. Develops and publishes custom content, manages and markets proprietary content and learning plans, manages system assignments, upgrades, and licensing. Coordinates timeline and communication plans for eLearning and mandatory compliance training and resources to a diverse audience of senior leaders, managers, staff and clients.


 


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


 


Bachelor's degree and three years of training-related experience which includes creating and delivering learning content via instructor-led training, online, blended or other technology-mediated learning, and administration of learning management systems and related learning technology.


 


PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


 


Degree in educational technology, instructional technology, instructional design, interactive technology or related field. Experience developing competency-based courses for a diverse group of learners. LMS administration experience (Relias, Cornerstone, and Lezage). Expertise with eLearning development tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Connect, HTML5, JavaScript, SCORM, xAPI, AICC standards, graphic design and video editing software, Dreamweaver, Photoshop or Fireworks, and/or Flash.


 


ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal customer-service and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills with emphasis on being conscientious and detail-oriented to ensure accuracy. Strong trouble-shooting skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment to meet deadlines. Demonstrative ability to work with diverse clientele and translate their learning needs; and to generate and apply new or unique ideas or solutions. Strong computer skills to include MS office suite, database integration knowledge, basic PC troubleshooting as it relates to online learning platforms, and software used to create eLearning courses.
