Job Summary:  This position is responsible for determining eligibility for travel entitlement for Veterans.

Essential Duties:

             Obtain identifying information telephonically for immediate action for transport

             Insures eligibility for care and contacts appropriate staff member for verification

             Schedules appropriate transport time and provides information regarding hospital policy and procedures

             Engage all other resources for difficult questions and/or concerns

             Maintains and monitors patient appointments and schedules to ensure future dates are met

             Communicate delays in scheduled transports to appropriate staff and patients

             Verifies benefit eligibility determinations

             Outlines beneficiary travel benefits to which the patient has entitlement

             Attempts to resolve complaints of a local administrative nature and refers other complaints to appropriate authorities

             Coordinates and/or schedules patient’s appointments with other clinics or specialties

             Receives and handles concerns ensuring that quality service is rendered in a timely competent and caring manner

             Research problems and/or reviews issues and requests related to information regarding provisions for transport eligibility

             Identifies and recommends ways of eliminating, combining, simplifying or improving procedures and processes

             Works on special projects and prepares special recurring reports as directed

             Gives guidance and initiates action as appropriate

             Copies, files and transport accurate documentation and enters information
Required Qualifications :


             Must have experience with Microsoft Office software, Excel and Outlook

             Must have experience with sending and receiving emails

             Must have great communications skills

             Must have an excellent speaking voice

             Excellent proof-reading skills and grammar needed

Other Requirements:  Requires background check

Physical Demands:  Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
